Crown Prince launches BIFA website and logo

Celebrating Bhutan - India friendship, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Dasho Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck launched the Bhutan-India friendship association (BIFA) website and logo and hosted a reception for its members this evening.

"This evening is a celebration of a friendship between two nations that has grown stronger and deeper, year after year," said His Royal Highness who is also the president and patron of BIFA. "Henceforth, we shall make this, the 11th of November, a day on which we celebrate Bhutan India Friendship."

His Royal Highness also presented the ‘award of token of appreciation’ for the webmaster and the prize for the BIFA logo competition winner.

Speaking on the occasion, the ambassador of India to Bhutan, Mr K.S Jasrotia said that on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty's birthday it was befitting that His Royal Highness launch the BIFA website and logo. "His youth and dynamism, coupled with the wise leadership of His Majesty, will, no doubt, provide the perfect mix for furthering the noble objectives of the association and in the larger context, reinforce the strong bonds of our fraternal ties," said the ambassador.

The function was attended by the ministers, the members of Bhutan-India friendship association working group, principals, teachers and students from different schools in Thimphu and members of the Indian community in Thimphu.
