Indian Army Lt. General visits Bhutan

28 February, 2007 - Granting an audience to Lt. General CK Suchindra Sabu of the Indian Army on February 27 His Majesty the King expressed his happiness with the strong and intimate ties between India and Bhutan and the close cooperation and friendly relations between the Indian Army and the Royal Bhutan Army.

Lt. General CK Suchindra Sabu who arrived in the country on February 26 is on a five-day goodwill visit to the country. While in Bhutan the Lt. General called on the Chief Operations Officer of the Royal Bhutan Army, Goongloen Wogma, Batoo Tshering.

He will also visit places of historical and religious interest in Thimphu and Paro and leave the country on March 2.

An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Lt. General CK Suchindra Sabu was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery of the Indian Air Army in 1970.

In his distinguished career spanning 36 years, the Lt. General has had varied instructional, staff and command experience.

For his distinguished service the General was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal, twice the Chief of the Army Staff’s Commendation Card and General Officer Commanding in Chief Western Command’s Commendation Card.

He took over the Command of a Corps on August 26, 2006.
