April 2005 - Mr. Apang who is the advisor to the Chief
Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and president of the Indo-Bhutan
Friendship Association (IBFA)-Arunachal Chapter is in Bhutan
on a goodwill visit.
According
to Mr. Apang, the association’s main objective was to
enhance people to people contact between the youths of Arunachal
and Bhutan and between farmers, musicians and politicians. “It
is important to have interaction especially between the younger
generation,” he said.
“The
ties between the people of Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh have
always been there and one strong evidence is the annual pilgrimage
of our people at Chorten Kora in Trashiyangtse,” he told
Kuensel.
Mr.
Apang and his delegation will be visiting places of cultural
and historical importance in Wangduephodrang, Bumthang, Mongar
and Trashigang before leaving Bhutan on May 1. The IBFA-Arunachal
Chapter was formed in March this year.
